Inever said the diagonal lines looked bad. They looked pretty nice. Just dont seem to have a real contribution towards the full design, so you could do without em.

the diagonal lines are nice. if every single aspect of a design HAD to contribute in some significant way to the design, layouts would be boring. I think that the lines add a nice subtle touch to the look of the site. other than a few things the others said, the only thing i could reccommend would be to do is to play with the logo in the top left (the one over the small photo). something about the color or look doesnt look right. maybe play with your layer settings. i agree with deker 110% also, leading DOES make a huge difference. although it might seem minor, its not. he had the same advice for me recently and it made a world of difference. great job!

A little more color would be nice... other than that, I like it a lot.

i really like it a lot, just several thinks i can think of that would greatly enhance it...

1. change the text in the navigation...too complicated and bulky looking.
2. i dont like the font you use in your heading. its also too big. try playing with it and aligning S. Miller to the left.
3. increase the leading to your text.
4. remove the watermark in the body.

thats it, looks really nice!
