Hi guys/girls, I redesigned my site today. It isn't finished, still needs a few graphics and icons to spice it up... but you'll get the overall idea. Please give me some comments or critique. I tried keeping it simple... The portfolio will be there soon. http://symposium.sidez.net |

I don't like how the navigation goes up and down depending on the length of the page, other wise it is great!

I agree with Alpha2Cookie there... do not like that the place of the navigation changes when you go from site to site.. other than that, i think it's really nice and simple

I like the whole 60's look... it's neat. And I also agree that the navigation shouldn't move all the time. Other than that it's awesome... maybe make some mouseovers for the buttons... kinda boring otherwise.:D |

Height You should always have a consistant height on your page. So that no matter what your page is atleast (say 450) a certain number of pixels long. That way pages with no content, little content or just a medium amount of conent will all be consistant in size. If anything gets longer of course it can stretch but it won't look odd because people will be viewing you information. center (up and down EPp its centers up and down... Yeesh make it stick to the top. Put some spacing between the top and the start of the page but generally you don't want your navigation jumping around every time the page resizes. Just make it like 50 pixels or something and leave it at that. Text I would suggest getting a slighty darker blue text for your page. It viewing your 'about me' section and the text would stand out a big more (and thus be easier to read) if it was just a tad bit darker. I personally find it too light Links Black works very well as a navigation color. But for some reason the black textlinks bother me. Perhaps it won't be so bothersome one you darken your text color...but for now it seems out of place. Maybe lighten it up to make them 'flow' together a bit more if even darkening the text doesn't work. |

Allright... I think i've fixed most of the problems you had with the site. The navigations stays at one spot now. And I made the text color a bit darker. Please check the site again and tell me if you see any other errors. Still have to fix some text-alignment problems... Other then that I guess it's finished. http://symposium.sidez.net Furthermore I'm looking for affiliates. If you want to affiliate, leave a message here please. Minse * edit * the portfolio is up now too. |
