As I finally threw out phpnuke and replaced it with my own CMS-system I made a new face for the site.

Nothing fancy, supposed to be lightweight, clean and generally "working".

(Note, NS4 is not supported, intentionally)

Any thoughts are welcome.

its kinda bland, nothing is really wrong with it, but nothing really is to exciting about it. one thing i feel weird about it is the 3 circles, i dont know really see why they are there. i think it might be because of the blue circle on the right but then the 3 circles are lime green and purple and light brown... the circles dont really have anything to do with anything on the site. the site does work though. just nothing great.

My first though: That's a guy who has code as his strong site, and graphics, well, don't really know ... I think it's just fine that you want this clean, lightweight site - but it can be a bit to clean... It's like the two things that catch my eye is: the smileys and then these strange circles... I still wonder about these circles, is there a reason why they are there? And why not give them some more colors if there are? It's just missing something that catches the eye, besides these smileys.. Give it all just a little color and contrast If your out of ideas, just send me a message or e-mail, I'll gladly help.

Thanx for the comments!

And well, yes, I'm a better coder than a graphical artist.
While I know my way around PhotoShop pretty well, form and beauty follows function for me. I guess that's why I tend to try doing the visual things with CSS and code and a minimum of graphics. Simply to make sure it works even if it's bland to the eye.

I'd rather start very simple and code it in a way that allows me to add things to make it more visually appealing along the way.

After having it up a couple of days I've got some ideas that might spice it up a bit. As it is right now, all styling except the logo is from css which makes it very easy to change the appearance and style.

I'll take a look at setting up some different styles for it.

Thanx!
