well.........screw macs then. i wanted to use it as my video and graphical station and just use my xp machine for games, this kinda puts a kink in that. I'll have to spend over $1000 in software alone, gay. Plus was pretty ticked to see Pro Tools isnt offered for OSX...nor XP though but still....... thanks. |

You're not going to want to use a Mac Mini for video work anyway. It could do light stuff, but anything serious would need to be done on a more powerful machine. Sometimes Adobe will let you trade in your PC version for the Mac version, so you may look into that. Usually you just pay for shipping I think. Not sure on the details, but it's been discussed here before. |

adobe will let you crossgrade your license when you upgrade. in other words, when photoshop 17 comes out and you want to switch you call and let them know and they'll change it over and send you the new software. and while the mini won't be ideal for video you'll be suprised what it can do. i do some fairly serious stuff on my iBook and it's almost the exact same specs. just fyi, a lot of guys i know that do SERIOUS audio work run pro tools in classic mode (i.e. OS 9). they also prefer digital producer to pro tools for a lot of things. chris |
