How to make my screen Brigther

I know this might be a dumb question but im having a problem. I have a 17 inch flat apple display monitor and I pressed the button on the lower left to change the brightness and now my screen is to dark. So i pressed it again and nothing happened, it wont let me change it.

Could someone please help! :( :(

Keep that same button "held down"... It will come up with a display pref. In that area you will see a brightness slider

nope it didnt work is there any other ways to get to that display setting

h0ld d0wn the button for a couple of seconds the prompt apears.. ;)
