Ok first off, dunno if this is suppose to go in this section, sorry if i screwed it up .

I was just wondering, because i am beggining to create the tutorials on my site, that when doing the images for the different stages of tutorials, do people just use the "print scrn" button, or is there different ways of capturing the image in photoshop. Because i have heard there is a "right way" and a "wrong way of using that button, because many times when you do that button it distorts text and things in the image, so yes this is a newbie question, yes i have never done tutorials before, and yes, lol, u can laugh at this question because i sure am ! :D

lol

/looks up and reads what i wrote and chuckles

Print screen captures should be fine. The only thing that the standard print screen command doesn't capture is the cursor.

Never heard of any distortion going on. Now if you have multiple monitors setup on one pc, you will get a very large screen capture, as it will grab the contents of all the screens you have and place them into one image.

The program I like to use for screen capturing is free and available at:

http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/system/capture.htm

It is a nice and simple screen capture program that uses bmp to store the images in a folder. Click as many times as you want and you do not need to open them in a program to save.

Also these guys make some really cool little programs you can use. If you are into audio they have a bunch of free utilities, like effects and stuff. You can also d/l an atomic time-sync utility if you dont want your computer to be out of time. Plus a bunch of other programs for like an administrator, etc.

or if you want to sync the time on your PC with the U.S. Navy, just open a command window (windows NT only I think)

type: net time /setsntp:192.5.41.209

Hit ENTER

type: net time /set

Hit ENTER

Done.

*NOTE: This uses UDP on port 123, so set your firewall accordingly.

Or if you're using Windows XP, just double-click your clock, and select the "Internet Time" tab. I think it's pretty self-explanatory.

Or, if you're on a Mac, open the Date and Time control panel, check the box next to "Use a Network Time Server", click the "Server Options..." button and go from there.
