my pc started to get really jerky and slow loading, been getting worse ever since i started designing, then i realised...

i've just cleared out about a gig of unused flash designs, logos, unfinished mp3's, digital camera pictures and whatnot, most of which in different little folders all over my desktop, i started off deleting all the things i knew i didnt need, then i decided to go for a real cleanup, and deleted all my old projects :D

i'm currently working on a fully functional flash/html site, and feel that instead of sitting down in the morning, and showcasing it by evening, i'll be able to showcase the final piece in about a week or two, knowing that it'll be one of those 'little folders' i wont be deleting for a while.

anyone else come across this much design crap?

ps: like to say goodbye to axiom, i dont see myself priviliged enough to post a goodbye in his thread, as compared to his post timeline i'm just a noobie, but i wish him well.

Cleanup? I wish! My HD is filling-fast! I'm sweating it, too! :(

I'm still pissed that my iTunes killed off my Toast, now I can only burn music CD's until I get/borrow a new CD-R USB drive.

see my rant? here

any Mac users have any suggestions?

Well, i have a Mac....any mac can support OSX too...OS 9.1 or higher. You have OS 9.2 (which i didn't know existed). Does your zip thingy not say it can work on Mac OS9.2? If iTunes killed Toast, install Toast again....everything is fixable. You may have to send back your Iomega drive though, are you sure you selected the Mac iomega drive? I've got one here especially for mac, but also works on PCs.

Thanks cybling - I appreciate your advice.

I can run OSX- and I have, I like it - but I uninstalled it since I'd rather not dump 200 more dollars into it for a RAM upgrade (only have 192 MB, but saving for new D-P G4) - my old G3 beige isn't speedy enough to make OSX run like it should - that's where I'm pissed at Apple (for claiming it will run on any G3 Mac or above - there's some fine print left out in that statement).

As far as why I'm pissed at Roxio, they've updated Toast only for OS 9.1 -or- versions of OSX - but left 9.2 out to dry (as I mentioned in my rant) - now, I can't "down-grade" back to OS 9.1 - (at least, I don't know how I'd do that - do you?)

I've replaced/returned this zip650 USB twice already, they're JUNK! (sell yours ASAP!!!) - I've done the jive with their crappy website, and their even crappier tech support. I've downloaded all the current stuff for the correct machines, too. It just simply isn't supported on OS 9.2, to the best of my knowledge.

what do you think I should do? :(

Once again, i'll say it, i've never heard of Mac OS 9.2. Maybe it suck and thats why its never mentioned?

To convert to OS 9.1, start up your comp and hold down the 'C' key with the OS 9.1 CD in the tray. The Mac will now run on the CD alone. Here you will go into a lil' desktop. Click on the CD and choose 'install OS9.1'. Go through the steps, making sure that you dont choose the 'wipe harddrive' option It will uninstall 9.2 and install 9.1 and all the files you have now will still be there. An idea would be to copy your preference folder onto a disk before doing this because you will lose your prefs. I'm running 9.1 on my own (beige g3, but in 2 weeks a new 17' iMac!!!!!!!) mac fine, and in work i use a G4 bluey one, and i've never had probs with USB drivers. 9.1 and 9.2 are very similar i'm sure, they might have fixed one tiny thing and charge another $100 for it, anything for money. Anyhoo, i recommend getting the OS 9.1 CD and reinstalling, i've done it twice on this (beigey) before
