Hi- how do you all feel about online galleries? - what are the best/worst things to do while trying to show featured artwork and photos on a portfolio-type website rebuild? any favorite examples of sites that are done really well? I'm debating even screwing with thumbnails. I might just make detailed text links to pop up windows. Can't really decide. Easier to update, for sure, but I'm not sure people would click a long list of text vs. a series of thumbnails. Obviously, the site should be very professional, clean, and somewhat quick to load. What is the general concensus? Can anyone share their experiences? thanks, graphicsguy |

thumbnails... i know i wouldn't click a long detailed link. you are much better off with thumbnails because that way people get a small preview of your work and just not some text, i'm sure others agree.

Yes, definitely include thumbnails. I rarely look at a picture in someone's gallery unless there's a nice thumbnail to grab my attention.
