depends on stuff.... Like the toolBars, how many rows of useless crap the visitor´s got and so on.. And of course netscape/IE/Opera all have different, I´d suppose... Maybe there is a list somewhere, on the values with different settings... Don´t know... |

in DW it lists it as 420, but as paavo said, if they have extr menus, etc. it may be less and could be more.

As a general rule I take away 20 pixels for scroll bars for the size and on like 800 x 600 I don't put anything below about 400 or 420 that I want to be seen without a scroll. That is about 2/3rds, and should be about right for 1024 by 768, and 1152 by 864 as well. I don't know about everyone in the world but Even though I have a large monitor, I DO NOT surf the web with my browser maximized. In fact I would say I probably have the browser window at about 800 x 600. |

I posted this before on the forum but here it is again. Maybe it will help you decide what's a *safe* canvas size for your particular layout... http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/99/41/index3a_page2.html?tw=design |
