about to buy my own domain, not sure of which company to go through, i'm in the uk and someone recommended supanames.co.uk to me, are there any quality international ones? or does anyone know any in the uk?

GoDaddy seemed like one of those shady "we'll give you a really cheap price, but you're going to end up on a ton of life-long mailing lists when we sell your information" kind of sites. At least to me. I've used a couple of other registrars and like the one I am with now at discountdomainregistry.com. I started to register a new name with GoDaddy because of the low price and got part way into their registration process before I said to myself... "somethin' just ain't right here" and aborted the mission.

Dude, GoDaddy is a reliable registrar. They have a "lock-your-contact" feature which I like for privacy.

Check out enom.com and directnic.com also.

you have to get the address cloaked though if you want it to stay in the address bar. That's no big deal though.
