I'll bet some of you guys here might know about this... I am interested in being able to print my own large format stickers for the backs of car and truck windows. I have a friend who was describing such a printer he saw at someone's house who prints these things as a side business. He said it was some kind of printer with a large roll of sticker sheet attahed to it. Can anyone point me to a resource that describes this whole process and can anyone offer some recommendations of the most affordable printers to start looking at? Thanks for any help. |

Vinyl is the word you're looking for. Vinyl is the paper of the gods.

if you're looking for traditional stickers - i.e. full color, outdoor bumper stickers, for example, you'll need to be careful to find a printer that offers solvent-based ink, so your stickers won't wash or fade in a month, like so many lousy stickers do... along with solvent comes the EPA restrictions and really expensive ink. (stick with the plotter, if you want my opinion). |

Depending on how often you intend to do this, it may be more feasable to just send out images for processing into large stickers.
