Hey I am on a personal mission here. I need some help though. If you consider yourself a "pro" designer...please assist me. I am from the Anime Community so to speak. As of late I have taken a major passion for graphics. I made a personal promise to myself I would not do anything else but be on this screenname only until I learn graphics, and I am going to stick to my word. Though I know jack about Photoshop, I have a lot of creativity. I know a pro to take me under their wing and show me the ways. I am going to buy a Photoshop book tomorrow, so I am fairly committed. I would appreciate the help.

I think it will be pretty difficult to get anyone to commit to being your "mentor" or however you want to word it. I would recommend just reading thru that photoshop book you are going to buy, as well as reading all of the tutorials on teamphotoshop.com and other photoshop sites. That is how pretty much everyone else got started, and if you have any specific questions, just post them here in the appropriate section of the forum, and then you will have hundreds of people helping you out with your problems rather than just one.

Good luck.

There are other forums... Though I don't know if you would call them "respectable" or not. This is actually the most mature and helpful forum that I have found... Which is why I've stayed around for over a year and made almost 2,700 posts.

You might try www.designsbymark.com or www.somethingleet.com

though both are not that great.

Actually I think Designs by Mark has been down for awhile.

May be back up now though.

Most of the forums out there are made up of 14 year old Canandian skateboarders who listen to trance music and are permanently hooked up to a Kazaa port. Not my idea of a productive design community...
