I use "magicscan" here at home. It came with the Umax Powerlook 3000 scanner.

I scan all my stuff at work from out color copiers. Sure I have to pay for it, but right now, it's cheaper than buying a good scanner.

i spent about $200 on an epson perfection 1650 that i have NO complaints about, and the convenience of having a scanner paid for itself in about a day, literally. i'd say just find a good scanner and use the software that it ships with, it should be optimized for that scanner and put you in good shape. chris |
