The 8ball, phone, and dog tag photos on my new design are taken by me, I have a few more photos offline, probably upload them for stock photos.

I got the DCR-1850Pro and DCR-6600Pro. I love the camera!

There's a user group that started for the S70 (my camera) on yahoo groups coupla years ago. It's not very active anymore, but you can search thru the archives for good info and some nice images, plus there's still a few sharp peeps who monitor the group if you have questions.

I just picked up a sweet little Olympus C-3040Z. It was a demo model at The Good Guys (electronics retailer) that I got an especially good deal on since my girlfriend is a manager there. It's only 3.34 megapixels but it has manual focus and semi-manual iris which are two things that are really helpful in getting good shots. It takes nice quality pics and the deal I got on it makes it worth every penny. A year ago it was $1000. I left with it for $199 becuase I am a cheap bastard. I think you can still find them new for about $500.

I also compared it to the equivalent Sony demo model (3.3 megapixel) since it *looked* more professional and impressive with it's "barrel style" lens assembly but found the Sony didn't have as wide of a lens. But it did have a longer digital zoom. The Sony's lens assembly also rotated off axis so you could hold it at your waist and still shoot forward or you could hold it in front of you and shoot straight down while able to see the viewfinder the whole time - nice. But I didn't like the fact that the Sony uses a proprietary battery system - meaning you can't just pop in some double "A"s when your batteries go dead - you have to recharge or buy an extra battery or two ($). The Sony also didn't have quite as good of quality of shot compared to the Olympus.

I was torn over these two models but ultimately went with the Olympus because of it's wider lens, better picture quality and it takes regular double "A" batteries when you need them. I later found out that the Olympus also won a couple of "best" awards in it's price catagory.

MoOchan - If I were you, I'd look at cameras that have at least a manual focus, if not a manual iris. Yes they are more expensive but they give you a lot more flexibility and creativity in your shots as you will learn in your photography class.

I'm really happy with my choice, even if I had paid $500 for it!

I've got a Casio LCD Digital Camera Qv-700... It's pretty historic because the max no wait, only resolution on it is 640x480. The memory card holds 2 megs though, so that's pretty good.

i just got the Canon Powershot A40, fig. great camera for the price. only 2.0 megapixels, but it still takes amazingly great pictures. i never felt the need to spend $500 on a camera when i get awesome quality with a $300 camera, though in a year or two i probably will get a 3, 4, or higher megapixel camera.

here are some photos i took with it
