Adobe pays 4.9 million on damages for infringing 3 of macromedia patents. Macromedia recently won in their counterclaims suit againts Adobe. Finding that Adobe infringes 3 of Macromedia patents: Changing blend elemants and re-blending of elements in illustrator, sound editing system using control line for altering specified characteristic of adjacent segment of the stored waveform which is found in Adobe Premiere, sound editing system using visually displayed control line for altering specified characteristic of adjacent segment of stored waveform which is also found in Adobe Premiere. This happened 5 days ago, and last week, Adobe received $2.6 million from Macromedia for basically the same thing! Anything to get a little bit of money, well it's very little to mass companies like Adobe and Macromedia. I think it's hilarious. :P |

Just wait until LiveMotion 2.0 comes out. (Flash Ripoff) too bad Quark is so damn broke, or they'd sue Adobe too...

You have to take into consideration that Flash has taken over websites. It's just plain cooler. What are companies like Adobe supposed to do? (Besides cracking the whip on their software developers.) I'm sure Adobe is feeling threatened, have you noticed the recent 7.0 superhype? I think the suing was Adobe trying to tell Macromedia that Adobe was here to stay. They invented web design. Macromedia came back with "We made it better." and to the side: "Kiss it..."
