Calling the tactic "malware at its worst," Lavasoft said its privacy software is being silently deleted when users install a third-party multimedia player.

Newsbytes has confirmed that installing RadLight version 3.03 deletes Lavasoft's Ad-Aware program, as promised in a warning in the software's 1,100-word license agreement.

I rely on Ad-Aware, but I won't be using anything but WinAmp and Windows Media Player anyways, so I'm not worried.

Yeah, I rely on Ad-Aware myself, but too, all I use is Winamp.

I don't think it's right at all, to have your software removed by some other company's software, and I hope Lavasoft can have something done about it.

Did you read the radlight message board? This guy has one very LAME excuse on his board.

oh no, it was never about him making money on the *cough* 'helpware' *cough* in his program. ohhhh no. Its all about showing how sucky it would be if all the programs went out and uninstalled other programs. and all about saying 'how do you like it adaware'

*shakes head*
