1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.(Likely applies to half world population) 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. 3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. 4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study. 5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. 6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. 7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. 8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day? COKE 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. FYI: 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis. 2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. 3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years! Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or Coke? |

Make it a large coke please. And throw in my rare prime rib, chilli cheese fries with extra bacon and sour cream on the side. I will top it all of with a super huge brownie/ice cream desert. Seriously. Everything will kill you. No matter what you do, you are going to die. So be healthy and fit and drink your 5 glasses of flavorless, odor less clear liquid. Myself, I will enjoy the days I have on this planet with an ice cold coca cola. |

I'll take a cool, clean, crisp bottle of water--oh, wait... I forgot, I work in the packaging industry. ::sidebar; if you like a food product, ie. Pizza-hut pizza, never talk to someone who worked there:: Bottled water is one of the least regulated industries in the food product collective. There are almost no regulations, zip, nada, zilch. A company usually sets up a plant in some area, and then just bottles water directly from the water table or even city water. If you're lucky, you might get charcoal filtering, heaven forbid they distill it. Moral: read your labels. Spring water? BLAAARRRGGGG.

1- I used to work for pepsi. Aquafine water? Bottled from city water. No filtering. They heat it to boiling point then chill it before placing it in plastic bottles. 2- I worked for a company a couple months ago where we were contracted to migrate some computers over to the new tyson foods intranet. At this place, they made the taco filling for taco bell and the meat toppings for pizza hut. I havent eaten a taco or a pizza hut pizza since. Not that the place was dirty. Infact, it was impeccably clean, but after seeing a couple thousand pounds of pork and beef get turned into that stuff, it hurts my stomach to think about. Not to mention on the last day of the contract, one of their sewage lines clogged up and the entire building smelled like rotten meat. |

[homer]Mmmmmmmmm.....Rotten meeeeeeeeaaaaaat.....[/homer] All kidding aside....even as a teenager, first job at Kentucky Fried Chicken, second job at a Ramada Hotel restaurant, then later as a waiter at an upscale dinner theatre, then as a bartender who also handled food....I was ALWAYS very concientious about food safety and cleanliness. After all, I liked to eat at these places too, and I liked to think that the majority of employees acted as I did. [seinfeld, with crappy fake british accent]"Not bloody likely!!![/seinfeld] Part of the reason I don't go to fast food joints anymore is because this lack of conscience is likely to cause me some serious sickness at some point. Generally, better restaurants hire older, more dedicated staff, and I feel much more comfortable eating in those places. I'm the dick that regularly asks management for a kitchen tour. Anyone who runs a clean kitchen will be glad to comply. And when I see a clean kitchen I'm quite likely to recommend the place to my friends and family. If they give you any guff about "Our insurance doesn't cover non-employees in the event of an accident," tell them they're full of crap and ask them what they're trying to hide. Oh, and by the way...I drink about a gallon of water a day. No I'm not kidding. That, and all the beer makes me wish sometimes that I also had a self-applicable and removable catheter bag.:D |

I'll take a two-liter bottle of Coke, please. Actually, make that Pepsi. Then throw in some water with that, too. Two-liters of that. That way, it'll all balance out! :D

I have not had a glass or bottle of water for, i'm not kidding you, at least 2 years. I lived on Mountain Dew for about 3 years, and now I've converted back to Coke over the last year. So far today, I've had one 20-ounce bottle and 2 cans of Coke. I'm drinking a can of Dr. Pepper right now, but only because our machine here at work is out of Coke and Mt. Dew. I'm heading to lunch here in about 5 mins, and when I do, I'll have a Coke, and one the way back to the office, I'll stop at the convenience store and grab a bottle of Coke. I don't get tired at all, I feel good, and I bet my stomach and bowels are much cleaner than all of you "water-drinkers". Granted, the walls of the stomach and bowels may be about 7 times thinner, but hey, my doctor never told me that thin stomach walls were bad.
