whoa whoa whoa there - no difference except the interface on this one! Let's try to avoid the 'platform argument' FOR ONE DAY! Dude, just use ImageReady. It has everything you need to make an image map. It's mind-numbingly easy. (I don't know if that's a word..) try this... Just open the file you want mapped in IR, then press the letter P. Or you can click the little tool with a finger and a square in it. Draw your hot spot (clickable area) - then go down to your palette near the bottom of your screen (hopefully) and you should see an Image Map palette. Type in your links, Alt tags (yeah, I know, you can't see them on a mac, but they're not that important anyway) and save optimized as. Save the HTML and the images, then cut and paste them into your page code. thank you, thank you very much.... good luck! |

Yo graphicsguy. Thanks for the help. Ill go get a demo of Image Ready...hmm Now that I think about it, I might have Image Ready on Photoshop. Yea im new to this. And haha on the computer argument. That does happen alot, its just that im not too intune with how to use slow macs with huge applications like CorelDraw or PhotoShop or Macromedia. My mac is pretty slow. It was the second model out along time ago. Its the classic blue. Anyway, thanks for the help everyone. Look for the zine in a few days at... www.geocities.com/anotherwebzine I dont know of anyone offering trial memberships for domains. later, paul |

DUDE! save yourself a TON of trouble and don't even install Corel Draw on your "old" Mac. - or any mac for that matter. It's yucky. shoot for freehand or illustrator instead. Oh, and I have a beige G3 desktop. Now who's Mac is old! good luck p.s. ImageReady comes with Photoshop 5.5 and up. |
