Why is it, that when I import our logo image into MS Word, the color changes from maroon to a purple shade. I've tried using CMYK, RGB, Lab, but no matter what, it still comes out purple.

What am I doing wrong here?

Well I don't know if it's because I was saving it as a TIFF, but I saved it out as a BMP, and the color comes over fine now, but does anyone still know why it would do that?

Microsoft has a TOTALLY different color engine than Photoshop. That's as good of an explanation I've got for ya. BMP's behave the best in Power Poop, I mean point, too.

There is a new application out (about 2 weeks old, I believe) called PANTONE OFFICE COLOR ASSISTANT 2.0.

I think it only runs about $40. Check out the PANTONE site, I think that's where my boss bought it.

I personally haven't used it yet, but I'm thinking it might help you out. I know it's designed specifically for MS Office Apps.

Found it:
http://www.pantone.com/products/products.asp?idSubArea=0&idArea=3&idProduct=72

I'll have to check that out, it'd surely come in handy around the office here, especially when it comes time to do a large network proposal, and 3 different people are working on the same thing.

I'd sell you mine, if it were mine.

I don't use MS Office for anything but Outlook. I may never even use that new program.

hope it helps ya out.

The main problem.....

MSWord.

but you are right.... it doesn't like tiff images. I accept a few jobs a month in word and tifs always look like hell..... that said I should also say, that while they look like hell.... they print just fine. If you need good screen previews though you'll have to stick with the .bmp file type

It even printed in purple. I thought it might just be the screen, but nope, it printed stupid purple too. I don't think the boss would have been too happy about a fruity-purple logo.
