Well, ummm.....you live in Alaska fer crissakes!

26" of snow shouldn't even make you blink, even in March.

We here in my part of Pennsylvania barely got any....I would've LOVED a 26" snowfall.

See but you don't understand - Alaska doesn't really have that harsh of a winter. That 26" was an all time record for snowfall in 24 hours - beating the old record of 17.7" set i 1955! Our average annual snowfall is just over 6 feet.

Guys from Idaho, the Dakotas, Minnesota etc. have it just as bad.

Don't get me wrong - I had a great time - my Jeep had NO problems driving - but everyone else did! That was hilarious! There are literally cars buried, giant snow piles . . . except hard.

:D

Amazing whether related trivia:

There's a cheesey, but interesting, game show produced at WPSX in State College (Penn State) PA called "The Pennsylvania Game." There was a rerun on Saturday morning of a show from (I think) 1988 and one of the trivia questions floored me.

There's a small town in PA that claims the world record for recorded rain fall...30 inches in 4 hours!

Think about that...7.5 inches per hour for 4 hours!!!

Here's another: 72 inches of snow in 24 hours in Silver Lake Colorado. A few years ago, I believe, that an area near Buffalo NY got close to this, from a tremendous lake-effect storm.

That stuff astounds me.

Here's one for you . . . growing up near Fairbanks, AK we had a week when the tempertaure didn't come above -65F, with a low of -83F!

Here in Anchorage, if it hits -20F people flip out . . .

I'll take some picts for you.
