Well here it is, the thread 'bout wether it is ok with copying CD for commersial use or not. Is piracy really somethin' that should be banned or, like someone put it: - they'd not buy it if they didn't get it for free, so the companies don't really loose any money over it.

Ye' thoughts 'bout this is...

After a certain amount of thinking I came up with:

Isn't this a selfexplanatory question. But anywayz, the discussion went from a comment to a flaming debate in an other thread...

So....

Regardless of HOW you look it it, it's wrong. I don't care HOW it's put, it's wrong. PERIOD. If you can't afford it, and wouldn't buy it anyway it doesn't matter, it's wrong. It's stealing no matter what...there are no "if's", or "but's" about it. It's stealing. If that is too much for you to swallow, go back to school.

The only time i get into piracy is to test programs b4 i buy them..
like 3d max.. can't find a trial proggy

I like Macromedia.. Trials are good.. just that people abuse them...

i don't want to pay big bucks for something i don't know how to use.. Demo softwares are useful in a way.

That y you don't see me posting any 3d stuff and anything fancy other than my usual photo+photoshop stuff and stockphoto.

Not that I'm saying piracy is good in anyway, but sometimes it helps me finantially. PS 5.5 was a gift to me. Though when i started back in 1999. I used a pirate version of 5....

I'm now saving up trying to get a copy of illustrator. I've been playing with it from school. 399 US.. probably get it cheaper off a local store..
They have educational copies on each of bout 1000++ comps there..

Basically I get to use these softwares in school
Dreamweaver 3, Flash 4/5, PS 5.5, Illustrator 8.

I did had a pirate copy of PS 6.. Didn't like the interface and stuff.. So i got rid of it...

Still loving my 5.5.. And at US$149 for an upgrade of 7.. that's quite cheap.. Bout $210 SG dollars

There's a Collection thing going on at Adobe and $999 for a 4 softwares is great deal.

One advice.. You'll never know how safe these pirate softwares are. My friend got his comp whecked cause there was a virus in the CD.. And I'm not lying..

Think I'll go with sidefx here (clever li'l guy, eh) If there isn't a demo or trail for a proggy that you're thinkin' 'bout using then watta do ? Am I supposed to pay many$ for somethin' I even don't know I wanna use. In this scenario I could use piracy material in experimantal purpose.

An exampel is just now when I got my hands on Bryce...Would never had bought that proggy for it's "real" price 'cuz I didn't know what to do with it. (and due to my retarded connection I couldn't download a trial, it would've taken a week) I could've been likely to get it "pirated"
to try it out. But then I miss alot of supp and things if I didn't buy it...

Now I did get it legaly in a store that went bankrupt and sold everything out to more human prices...
