PS7... I'm not exactly that excited. Though I stated that in another thread. A few not-so-necessary additions and some tweaks. Still no 48-bit editing. Only some basic level integration with Imageready. Layer sets apparently aren't enhanced (such as layer sets within layer sets). And no extra vector stuff. |

I don't know..... to me PS6 hasn't been out long enough for another $600 dollar PS title to come out yet.....

MrBogus...you'll need to read more about what hasbeen added and upgraded. Of course there are things that lots f people wanted that haven't been implemented or revamped. That has always been the case with any ongoing application evolution. But the experts and beta testers whose opinions I trust have been saying really good things about the new version. I'd have paid the upgrade cost if they did nothing but make it run in OS X as a native application. FlackBait...The 7.0 upgrade cost is only US$149...don't know yet what it'll be outside of the States. The price is a bit of a shocker...the initial retail price for the 6.0 upgrade was $40 more than this. |

Oh, I read all about the additions. The only thing I find interesting is the new brush engine. Though I've had Painter 5 for ages anyway. Which really doesn't make me all that impressed with 7.0. Tweaks include the file browser, liquify filter, print options, pdf passwords, texture filter, & clone brush. The addition of the spell checker is the only other big added feature that I can see, and it isn't that compelling an add-on for me. I'll get PS7 eventually, but will be looking for a deal. I also don't think I'll be hounding my office like I did for PS6. |
