Who here thinks coming up with content for a site is harder than actualy making it? I sure do. I feel like making a new site, but can't come up with any ideas as to what type of site. We have more than enough webmaster resource type sites...and I don't have the time to start a new design service...what else is there...personal site...they get no visitors. Any comments? I am good at making backgrounds and site templates, and good at logos and stuff, but do we really need another one of these sites?

No, we don't need more of those sites. If you don't have anything interesting to put on your site, then don't make it.

You could go ahead and do a design... Then just add it to your portfolio.

Or if you want another project to work on, just join an existing one. There really doesn't need to be more 'design' sites out there. That's the problem with most of the now... there is no content. They just have a design. With no reason to ever come back.

yes, i totaly agree that there are too many sites with cool designs, but no content.

I'm thinking about some sort of art type website. I do a lot of drawings and stuff myself. You think a site that showcases my and other select artists work is decent content? I guess I could expand that with some written articles...i don't know

whats a pixel war

Actually, if you're like me and deprived of internet time, it's a lot harder to actually create content. However, I have so many ideas for new stuff it isn't funny.

Every web site needs quality content. So how to you deliver it without hiring a fleet of writers?

Outsource it of course.

Compelling content is the #1 reason browsers return to a site, according to Forrester Research.

What kind of content to you want?

*Note, Just noticed the article on Content Providers in the February 2002 print issue of "Ziff Davis - Smart Business", and thought of this thread, so I thought I'd type it all out and post it, then I decided against it, so I just posted the links.
