Hey I just got a new computer today. Came with XP home edition. Is the memory managment the same as xp pro. I have pro but if I don't need to go through the headache of upgrading I won't bother. The only thing I'm concerned about is the memory managment, and if it's the same for both. Thanks...

Yes. Both are the same with memory management. This site lists the differences. No memory management changes. |

I was overdue but man I HATE installing all this crap again. And I got a new monitor 17' flat screen and the colors are different than my old one. Now I have to figure out which one was right. Does the background color for this site look bluish or purple. Looks bluish to me but on my old one it was definitely a purplish color. OHHHHHHHHH.....

The background shows up as a photoshop point sample as R:59 G:59 B:76, which looks to be smack dab in the middle of the blue hues section. And to my eyes, it shows up as an extremely dark/faint blue, but more or less like a gray. No purple goin' on with me.

Well I have not re-installed Photoshop yet so I have not done the color deally. But, this new monitor shows a very similar color to my wife's old monitor. I'm guessing my old one was incorrect. It looks blueish greyish (more blue) to me on both old monitors, and very purple on my previous one. the scroll bar "background" does look a bit purpleish though. Oh well, I'm off to spend the next few days getting everything tweaked out just right. So far in the few hours I'm amazed at how much faster this new comp. is. My old one was a 600 mhz with almost 400 meg of ram. Did the job. But with this new one I'm blazing at 1.8 gightz with 512 meg of ram. And a nice new 120 gig hard drive. Woooot wootness... ;) OH, and Mr. B thanks for those RGB values. They look very purple on my old monitor. I'm guessing they will look blueish on this new one once I get PS installed... |
