Does anyone know the steps to create a .ico file. You know when you bookmark a site it appears next to the title on your bookmarks. How do I save the file? What extension? Seems like there are no .ico when I want to save in PS. Thank you for your time. |

Thank you NL I read the article then I went to the suggested site, and found out they charge $75 to make an icon. Are there any programs that I can use to do the icon? |

Here's a plug-in for photoshop that allows you to make icons... http://www.iconfactory.com/ibxp_home.asp It has a demo version that you can try out. Or try some of the programs here: http://download.cnet.com/downloads/1,10150,0-10001-103-0-1-7,00.html?tag=srch&qt=icon+creation&cn=&ca=10001 |

Microangelo is by far the best icon creating program, and I do believe that it can read .PSD files even!

Directly saving as an .ICO file is something I hope is in the next update to Photoshop. Thats always been a little annoyance for me. If I ever need to make one though. I just do it at work with our copy of Microangelo. Costs around $60, but its the best thing I've used for icon creation. |
