I can, so you can too, cut the size of your images down by nearly 300%:

Namely this image:


That baby is like 600+ bytes, but when I opened her up in PS, and "Saved For Web" as a 16-color .gif, the file-size was immediately 212 bytes. I've never before noticed a problem with the file size, but tonight I realized that I have ALL caching turned off, and I noticed that it took a moment for the page to load all of those images, but also blame @Home for the crappy connection.

EDIT: Heck, you could even lower the colors to 4, and that thing comes down to 120 bytes. and still looks the same as it does when it's almost 6 times that size.

i supppose shaving a few bytes would add up for saving bandwidth cost over time. Not sure how much though.

Well.. trimming all the images would be a pain.. unless you can automate it..

On a mac, with applescript.... you can automate ANYTHING!

On a box running linux I can automate anything too!

Well.. I can bother some programmer types to script me anything..

Where is the save for web feature at in PS ?? I normally upload .bmp files for my images. Not sure how that .gif got in there. I thought the larger the size the better...
