Hey, i was just thinking... Maybe there should be an overall pixel wars where everyone competes, if they want to or not. Dek or Pank or Torn gives us the pic and everyone has a bash at. It would certainly create a lot of competition in the forum and a lot of styles and practises would be learned from each other. This could simply be an 'open pixel war' forum in the Pixel Wars forum. People could then vote for whoever they want (not including themselves). I understand this would be a huge counting task, poor mods...Maybe you wouldn't have to vote...? The standard would just go shooting up and i'm sure a lot of people, me inclusive would participate (just like the way sidefx did his version of the eye which looked a lot better). 1 on 1 competitions are akward, nobody is REALLY wanting to do them and the end result aren't always great. (no offense ppl) I think people should respond to this idea and the mods should take it into mind. |

Actually I was waiting to see how the set up we have now took off. It went dead that was going to be the next plan. No challenging each other, just open challenges. Let's see how the format we have now settles in. And then go from there...

Actually, you'd by like 7th-ing that, but anyways... I'll 8th that. I did a search for similar things, and it looks like Designs by Mark has a regular design contest, but he has prizes...prizes are stupid and are just not feasible without a sponsor... But what I was looking for was how other people had it set up to do forum contests, by just posting a link to your image. I have yet to see an organized way to do it...no different than Pank has it now. I say just go ahead...post a thing for the rules, slightly adapted with a bit longer time frame (say a week), but I'd have a specific panel of judges rather than just a free-for-all vote. Let the moderators vote in a closed forum (or private message, personal chat). I don't like the idea of everyone voting...that would be a mess and probably would not decide a clear winner, but rather 1 person voting for a different image every time. But that's up for further discussion either way. I've got a couple-hundred other ideas for this once Pank gives it the go-ahead. |

Yeah, i agree, having everybody vote will not work. A panel is the only way to go i suppose. Although, that wouldn't stop people making comments, just that their opinion wouldn't count, but may lean towards the mods making an easier desicion. If you get me.... But it's up to them, where's dek and torn's opinions anyway? show your faces. |
