I have a problem.....Me and my 2 business partners have just started a web and graphic design company...and we cant decide on any prices....all of us know photoshop really well, image ready really well, flash, java, html, cgi, and other programming lanugages..... We cant get a price range picked out.....now i think i have asked this before but what do you guys usually charge for a web design......just a general ruff estimate i guess...or what do you consider you average price range to fall in...... Im pretty sure that there is no set amount to ask for cause for example a little old lady come up and askes you to make a site for their family reunion...your not going to ask as much as if a big company like sony or something comes to you and asks you to make them a site.....but i was just wondering if you could help us out any......with prices.....thanks.... |

Yes, you have asked this before. As have many people. And it doesn't get any easier to answer. It's basically based on your skill. But an hourly fee could range from $35 to $120 an hour. |

We do when we send out the bill. But when we do a bid for a networking project, we DO figure in the sales tax into that. We don't do bids for Web jobs (generally). |

If you have a tax ID for your business you have to. At least in Tennessee. Might be different in other places. If you are legally setting up a business with the state and everything, then most likely. If you are just calling yourselves something or doing it as individuals, then you don't have to.

I belive you don't charge taxes on services (like web design), only if it's a product do you add on sales tax. However, you do have to deduct taxes from your paychecks.

Well I suppose the tax on services could be a state law...here in Iowa, we DO have to charge tax on services.
