New to this forum, so sorry if I'm repeating a topic.

Talked to a person once briefly who taught Photoshop. She said she made about $50 an hour teaching it, either at her training facility or at her place after work. Sounds like a pretty nice gig.

Anyone else do any teaching. Is it as lucrative as what that person told me?

I haven't actually taught, but I was in negotiations with a computer training company to teach that and Dreamweaver. The company went out of business before we finalized the deal though. But I was going to charge around $400 a person for say a six week class, so I'd say it can definitely be a lucrative gig.

I taught Photoshop to an advanced high school graphic design class for a day, and I made some nice coin. I enjoyed it alot.

However, I couldn't imaging trying to teach the students that didn't give a damn. Be sure it's specialized enough so you don't have to explain what a CD-ROM or a mouse is.

Yeah, I was thinking of the person that had to do it for work or wanted to learn it for making personal websites.

You don't have to get into the nitty gritty, and you can wow them with Levels and Saturation. hehe

I'm gonna look more into it

I don't teach "photoshop" but I DO teach "how to tone a grayscale image for print" and "Color correction, with the aid of photoshop", its more or less a service of the company I work for.
I visit the newspaper staffs of several high schools and colleges every year.

In the long run, $50 an hour is pretty conservative.
