You didn't know....nee-nerr nee-nerr neeee-nerr.....as spxds so elegantly put it...I am God. Well, she may not have said it "exactly" like that....but it's all the same in the end.

Now people, Axiom knows his HTML, granted, he doesn't know it that well, but he knows it. His lack of signature is due to his lack of motivation, which is caused in part by Deker not giving him nightly-lovin'....so just back off him OK?

I happen to know my HTML very well. Infact, I code it all by hand. And it's not deker who is slacking off in the lovin department. It is infact, pank. My lack of signature is due to the fact that I dont think I need one. |

What did she really say "god Matt, you are -=insert some random insult here=-" something like that? hehe ahhhh don't hit me. It makes my want to curl up into a little ball when i see people blaming NETSCAPE for their pages not working. This is sorta the same thing. It isn't their fault that your page doesn't fit a standard that works in all pages. I use GoLive to help me with my pages and i usually never have problems with cross-browsing stuff. Than again i mostly use it for helping me set up my tables and rollovers. |

Mmmmm, you guys are making me angry. Many advanced pages WILL NOT look the same in all three browsers (my "three" are i.e, NS 4-5x and 6.x). Now is this because of my code. Nope. I can "make" things very similar almost all of the time by tweaking this and that. BUT, I believe until NS 6.x, they in fact did not meet all the standards. Thus the lack of CSS support for NS. Standard CSS tags would not work in NS. Some would, but not a lot of them. It's gotten better in 6.x but the fact is don't be too quick to blame the person for sloppy code. Yes, that is a problem. But in my eyes the browsers are more of the problem. I also have a problem with browser specific tags (like the color scrollbar in i.e.). Yep, I use them. But I shouldn't. They don't appear in NS either. That's not NS fault. It's an i.e. only tag. Stuff like that just asks for trouble. They "ALL" should conform to the "standards". That's it, nothing above or beyond. But for God's sake at least do the job right. end rant... |

I didn't mean to imply that if you write perfect standards compliant code, your page will look the same in every browser. It SHOULD and that's what the W3C is for. Without them it would be a lot worse. And I don't think anyone will argue that NS4-5x suck. Those are the worst browsers around. 6.x is pretty good for CSS and things like that though. |
