server speed

I just set up a linux box on my adsl line to do a little hosting and now I need to know if it is serving pages fast enough or if it is slow.

I can't seem to test it myself because it sends the info over the lan and gets there instantly.

is the basic page, just text, should load instantly

Had a friend who was on a t1 line tell me it was slow and I was worried.

I'm on a fairly good cable connection, and that seems to load faster than many large .com's.....but then again you don't have quite the concurrent usage that they do.

Heh.. nope I don't.

Should have good bandwidth going out though, about 400kbs.
Enough for my modest hosting needs.
