I'm looking for an old NES system to buy... Working condition, two controllers, all connector cables, etc. Preferably with Mario/duck hunt. Don't care if it has box/manuals... Just needs to work. My fiance' likes the old Super Mario Brothers a lot but hates trying to play it on the emulator on the computer... So I need to get her the real deal... Silly girl. |

Yeah there are a lot on eBay... just figured I'd ask here since I trust people that I *sorta* know more than some guy on eBay. Never bought anything from eBay before so I'm a little nervous about the stuff will actually work and so forth.

I actually have one that's around somewhere, don't know if it completely works or not. If anything messed up it might just be the cable from tv to console. I can take a look and try to find it at my folks place if you're interested... Chris |

Hey, thanks for the tip Charm. I saw that bundle pack on there. $60 for the system and Zelda and Tetris. Then I can get her Mario for $.99 more! Does anyone remember if Super Mario is 2 player? I haven't played that game in so long I can't even remember anymore. Fig, thanks, but I'll probably just order from FuncoLand. Might be more expensive, but they are guaranteed to work/refurbished, etc. |

Super Mario I is sort of two player. One person plays until they die, and then the next starts until a death and then it is the others turn again. In Duck Hunt there was a way to control the ducks so two people could play. Get final fantasy 1 while you are picking up nes games. |

like czak said.. its two players, mario and luigi there's 3 lives when u start.. so when u "die" luigi will be next, vice-versa ... btw, how some she plays old games?? there's only 8 levels bout 4 sub-levels each... i can complete it in a few hours... anyways, i'm already sick of games, hardly play anymore... |

She likes old games because they are simple and easy to play. Unlike most games today that require you to memorize 45 buttons on the keyboard that do different things. I like those kinds of games, but she doesn't. She just plays when she doesn't have anything else to do, so simple game like Mario is good for her. I think I may get a SNES instead actually, because she likes Super Mario World also. And I would rather have an SNES so I can get some of the great RPG games like Chrono Cross, the Final Fantasy games, Secret of Mana, etc. I love that system... I've also been looking around eBay all afternoon (I'm going to get fired if I don't force myself to stop reading web sites all day...), and I found some old TurboGrafx 16 systems. Awesome! I need to buy one of those eventually as well. I'm thinking I should just start a huge video game collection. I don't think my fiance' would be very supportive though. Some of the imported PC Engine (Japanese version of TurboGrafx 16) games are going for $150+ for one game! Video games! Weeee! Who needs a Gamecube anymore? (me, actually) aaaaaahhhhhhhhh.... I love video games. |

Mine only require me to memorize 35 keyboard buttons. Geez, what kind of wack games do you get? 45 buttons.
