Domain Name Purchasing & Hosting

Hey all I'm looking at purchasing a domain (so that I can actually have a web site without those d@mn pop-ups and banners) and wanted to know if you could give the run down? I do live in Canada if that matters at all when buying and being hosted. So if you've got any tips or suggestions please let me know.

get a domain over at directnic.com its 15 bucks and the support there is excellent, 5 stars..

Nope, never had any trouble. No downtime. Customer service is great. The only bad thing is that they don't have phone support, you have to e-mail so it takes a little longer.

I have one strictly busines account and one Crazy Domain Insane account.

I bought my newest domain from verio (not hosted yet) and just set up KAIROSinteractive on a new account with Aletia Hosting and they've been great so far, only been a few days tho. Cheap with no set-up fee, gotta love it...

Whoa... Torn's hosting is cheap.

Can you set up e-mail aliases and mailboxes from the control panel? Extra domains are $3 a month? How much are extra e-mail accounts over the initial 100? (I'm looking at the professional one) If I set up an alias to forward to a pop3, can I have the e-mail forwarded to multiple addresses or mailboxes? Are those prices only good if paid for annually? Do TeamPS forum moderators get extreme discounts?

Now as for being hosted by ya I've got questions for ya. Now okay I'm a total newbie at doing my OWN website, like I've had my own on free hosts but I've never done it on my own is it very difficult to run your own incomparison to using a host?? Are all of you there prepared to help me when I come a calling when I don't know something?? Oh and that "52.95" for the webmaster package covers the purchase of my domain, correct?
