Ok, im excited. I've finally finished this computer off (well, I'll probably replace the sound card down the road, but it's no biggie). Went out yesterday and ended up with a TDK VeloCD 24x10x40 CD-RW. I love it. Been wanting a burner forever, but needed my video card and monitor first. Just thought I'd share. :p Plus it's like 5:30 am, and I've been burning for the last....eh....7 hours. |

Do those VeloCD things have burn-proof technology? I have a Plextor 16 x 10 x 32, and it has that burn-proof stuff. Basically it makes it impossible to ruin a cd. If the buffer runs out of information, it just stops the laser and writes more when it gets more information. Pretty neat. The older cd burners would just keep writing blank or corrupted info onto the cd if the buffer was empty, so you couldn't really do anything else when burning. Anyway... hope you enjoy it. I enjoy mine...

Yeah. They call it Smart-BURN. Between it and the Plextor Plexwriter, they're supposed to be 2 of the best out (from what I've read anyway). Only takes a couple of minutes to burn between 10-12 songs (about 60-70 min of music on average). I bought a 50 pack of CD-R's, and don't have but a handful left, lol. |

I used Nero. But you can also use Easy CD Creator and some others. The videos have to be in MPEG format. Here's a converter if you need it: http://www.tmpgenc.com/e_main.html and there is lots more info here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/ Oh, and your DVD player also has to support VCDs. |
