... tempo certainly slowed down since my last visit here... I came back a day or so ago after being away for atleast 2-3 years, and nothing happened from a day or two back to now....

Is there no action here anymore ?

hi,
not much action I think part of the problem is all the commercial ad and just gibberish, that are being posted... and the host not doing much about it.

There are a few things that are off-the-shelf that the site owner can install to stop the spam - at least most of it.

This could be a cool forum, but the spam is too much!!

I agree.
The spam is too much to keep up with, I think there are some good spam fighting scripts around!

It looks very different to when I first registered only a couple of days ago. All the proper threads have moved onto like page 24!

Sucks... Sorry, have upgraded again to latest version and added a seperate hack which is meant to stop registration bots which are causing all the problems.

Hmmm.... it doesn't seem to be much better. Still a lot of advertising and/or spam in the forums. :(

Such an awesome site otherwise. I know I'd spend a hell of a lot more time here if the spam could be killed off.

Thanks for the feedback Raijer ... And for reporting that post... I've had a large clear out of spam posts today, but there is much more to be done to clear it all as you say.

I'll be looking again for more vbulletin mods to identify spam also.

Edit:
More spam removed today and a heap more IPs banned, removed sigs for members as some bots were using this option for spam.
