I'm a long time user of PCs, but my next computer is probably going to be a Titanium Powerbook, so I was wondering if any of you Mac users (or Mac haters) know of a site or book that eases the transition of PC users to the Mac. I've searched long and hard on the 'net for a site like that, but none of them seem to have what I'm looking for. I don't really want a basic intro to Mac book, though I'll probably get one of those too. I just think it would be nice if there was a resource that walked PC users through similar things on the Mac.

If there isn't a resource like this, I'll just have to make one as I go along.

Yeah, it looks like it won't be that difficult switching over. I just wanted a jump start so I wouldn't be trying to figure out the mac when I should be working...

As for being a traitor... Pthhppphhhhtt. My computer is going to be made out of freaking Titanium. It can kick your computers ass. I think they are bulletproof too. So I could wear it as a vest and protect myself. I bet you can't say that about your computer.

The Mac OS is really simple to use (i'm not familiar with OS X yet, but I'm sure it is just as simple), and should take you no time at all to adapt, as long as you don't try to compare it to Windows. I think people that make the switch get hung up on "Windows is like this...where is the Mac counterpart", instead of approaching it as a fresh interface. You will probably even get pissed at how easy it is to manage the system!

Here is a book that I would suggest looking into:

OS 9.1

I haven't read this one, but i have several from the same line and they help to save soooo much time in the learning process.

Here ya go:

http://www.scar.utoronto.ca/~ccweb/manuals/macintro.html

Disregard the first few items like "What is an operating system?" Just scroll down and it gives the basics of operation of a macintosh.

Reading? I suggest the "macs for dummies" for whatever version you get on your new notebook.

I REALLY want a new powerbook, just can't talk the wife into it right now... :(
