Windows XP was about to have this sort of feature built into it called "smart tags", but it was removed seemingly due to negative reaction that Microsoft received. Office XP actually does have smart tags built into it, but I've read that they do not work as proposed.

As for other programs doing it, of course other people will write programs that do the same thing, but all of them sound absolutely useless.

Genius idea, but wrong! Just plain wrong!
