I've been giddy all morning, I admit it the new Intel Core Duo powered iMac - duo core 1.83ghz 17" or 2.0ghz 20", 667mhz front side bus, ATI Radeon X1600 graphics with 128MB GDDR3 memory, Superdrive, built-in iSight, 2-3x faster than the current iMac the NEW new Intel Core Duo powered MacBook Pro - Core Duo 1.67ghz or 1.83 ghz CPU, 667mhz front side bus. ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 128MB GDDR3 memory, Superdrive, 15.4" screen that's 67% brighter, built-in iSight, 4-5x faster than the current powerbooks...wow. but i gotta admit i'm not so hot on "MacBook Pro". but still... chris |

i agree w/ the 'macbook pro' view... should've just stuck w/ something along the lines of powerbook. ultra mega v.2.0. but damn, that's pretty sweet. once i saw that they come w/ isight, i threw my 1 year young powerbook across the room. |

I'm a mac fan if there ever was one, but agree that there's something rather underwhelming about the name "macbook". There was a definite authoritative smack to the word "PowerBook", and I can kind of understand that they wanted to differentiate the two products, but that's just a really mediocre name. Come on, Apple. Don't let this be the end of your pompously chic branding. That's half the allure of owning an Apple product. |
