I use http://ehostpros.com They have some packages starting at $3/month and then $12/year for the domain, but it is no where near 500MB. You're not going to find decent hosting with that much space for $40/year. Nos. |

Search webhostingtalk.com for hostrocket. See what the opinions are. From there site, im not sure id put 100% trust in them. They seem to offer a lot (too much) for a little. For a basic account your probably going to spend atleast $5 a month, which is no where near 500meg. 500mb and 1 gig transfer doesnt even make much sense, unless most of your files wont be accessed. Also how much do you really need? Dont over estimate. Like i own a 50meg account (which i thought was small). And after 1 1/2 years of uploading files, im only at 26 megs. Just for fun im going to point you to my host. See what you think of their plans. Im on the 2nd plan, which is too much for me. http://www.insiderhosting.com/virtual.html |

Just a word of advice: never let a host register a domain name for you. Always register it yourself, even if it means an extra $7 for that first year (or however much you pay). You always want complete control over your domain.

you still have complete control over it even if they register, you'll just have to pay extra later on to keep the name with a different company if you leave your host.

Some hosts register it in their name. This wouldn't be the case for these listed hosts, but if it's a 'basement hosting service', the hoster could close down the service and take the domain since it's listed in their name. It was just a general word of advice ;)
