If your copy is pirated, they may not work. We're not going to rat you out, or anything, but that kind of thing is to be expected when you get a 'free' copy of something. Also, some of your hotkeys and shortcuts may not work either.e

I bought it on Ebay. CD and case only, possibly not the real CD.......it looks real, but the printing on disc is shotty, blah!! Well if i do notice things happening I'll go back to v.7 that i bought or simply buy it, good ol educational discounts can be lovely sometimes.

As far as I know this a problem that is not associated with pirated copies of CS. There is an unofficial patch for it that clears up the problem, I myself had the same issue. I can't lay my hands on the patch at the moment but if I do come across it I will post a link.

and/or Mac...I find it insanely frustrating not to be able to browse my .ai files without visuals. Nearly all my files are obvious as to what they are, but there are still a handful of files that I can't see, and there are too many to waste time opening each. I also want to be able to browse the stock images provided on my CD to see what the heck is on there. I am unable to view what they are, except through InDesign, but it has a tendancy to crash the program when viewing too many.

(This is for a legit copy of CS for Mac)
