Think Anyone Will Participate in a Weekly Sketch Challenge? |

I know I would. Rodder, Nos, Supah and I did a pixel war last week. The Topic was speedpainting and the subject was 'Iron Angel'. Here's the challenge thread. And this is the work we came up with. I know if there was such a thing ongoing, I'd participate whenever I could. The reason why I didn't put this in the Forum Suggestion thread is mostly because only Pank or Deker would read it and most likely, I (or anyone else, specifically Pank) wouldn't get much if any feedback on it. I know that suggestions of this type have been made before, but I think that this one, a weekly speedpainting/sketch challenge, where the entries are mainly works made in a spare half hour, to one hour period is more than likely to work, just because within a week, mostly everyone can come up with that much freetime. Obviously, we'd keep it photoshop only, and wacom-optional. Also, I think that it shouldn't be a competition, not at first. More like 'sketch jams' as they used to be called on the now defunct www.conceptdesignforum.com. The way they were done there was just like the way we did the last one. A two word concept, and each participant would come up with an image based on their interpretation of it. Anyone have any feedback on whether they think this would be a good idea? Anyway, just a thought, and I know it's something I'd be interested in, so there's bound to be at least a few others. |

And yes, I know there's already something like this in the weekly fix section, but well, it's not quite as active as it ought to be. What I'm proposing is a little different. It's just a matter of what part of the forum it has a place in.

Good to hear there's someone on board. I think for the time being, seeing as how there's likely to be very few interested, I suppose an analog entry would be permissable. I think in the future though, this may change. Or if there's enough interest, I don't really see why there couldn't be two types of entries. Aside from the fact that this is teamphotoshop.com, I don't see why there can't be any analog action as far as artwork goes. |

Yeah, think then that this should go under the weekly fix section, or the pixel wars section? Cuz if it were in the pixel wars section, that would suggest that it was a competition. This isn't going to be that, really. Just a sketch group, with weekly topics. |
