back for my semi-monthly post of randomness. Topic of discussion: Insomnia. Now, I get bouts of insomnia occasionally. They usually only last a few days or as long as three weeks. Last time I had it, I was living in Charleston, not sure what direction to go with my life. Then I decided to quit my job and move to Columbia and suddenly I could sleep like a baby again. Well, here it is, 12:30am. I've been up for close to 19 hours now. Not even winking. Tossed and turned for about 3 hours, then decided to doodle in photoshop, as I havent done any personal work in almost a year. I'm not sure what is causing it this time. I'm leaning towards a strained relationship with my fiancee. It's nothing relationship ending, but I am a white southern "boy" and she's a black midwestern woman. Obviously, our families are ecstatic about our relationship (sarcasm). So why do we live in a country where we can accept one another's differences for a few minutes after a terrible tragedy, but then go right back to hating each other when the dust settles? I just don't understand it. I'd move us to a different state, but the bigotry is the same anywhere else as it is here. Maybe the people don't speak about it outloud there, but there's a deep under current of hatred everywhere. The kicker is, she has a one year old daughter. I care for her very much. Have changed a couple diapers. Feeding her is an excercise in true patience. Also pretty good target practice. I have fun with the two of them. Why can't the world share my happiness. Oh well. Now that I've vented...I'll go have some grape juice. btw. Hi pank, deker, mattboy and especially *NL*. Good to see all the old guys are still around. |

If pank, deker, mattboy and the other old guys left, the forums would be overrun with a bunch of naïve kids. Pardon my french, but we're ****ing lucky that they're still here. And more toward the topic, have you considered/tried over-the-counter drugs or is that just a no-no in your book? Although, I don't think drugs really help fix an insomnia problem, it's too much of a psychological problem (at least in my case) for conventional medicine. |

LOL.... although completely random, I miss your randomness around here, you usually spiced up some threads that were otherwise simply boring. When you going to find the time to come back and hang out with all us old fellas?

@malibu - apologies old timer. I was going through a few threads. Simply didnt see you name. I don't have much to contribute in terms of art, etc, so I don't read more than the lower part of the general stuff section. Good to see ya. @fusion - I bounce back and forth between my job I'll probably never enjoy and my fiancee who I enjoy immensly. I just bought a computer and got cable hooked up at her house so when I am over there, I can use it to do stuff. Here lately, it's become my recipe book as she takes care of the baby and I cook all the food. I feel like a good little house husband. I check in here occasionally to see how everyone is doing. My work drains me of all my creativity, so I usually don't have anything interesting to post. If I ever do, you can trust that teamps will be the first place to see it. deker, himself, may be the first person to see it as his opinion is one I've always valued. @*NL* - my fiancee and I had a long discussion during lunch, after I left the doctors office(seems I have an upper respitory infection). We talked about things and how we felt and how we were going to deal with our fears of raising "mixed" children in the south, among other things of course. I feel better now. I should be able to get some sleep tonight. AIM = ctabenton / icq = 20369051. Dont use MSN cause it's satan. Email = axiom@oesm.org @everyone else - im glad this place is still up and going. Some of the most interesting people I have met on the net, reside right here. |

Hi there Axiom. Welcome home. My best friend is mixed, and he hasn't been burned at the stake or anything, even living in a little hick town in Tennessee, so you should be ok.
