W/e Bush won, and you liberals have all proved my point, you're idiots that are moore drones and dont like Kerry by any means you just hate Bush because you are drones of the media. Check and Mate, motha****er
And what the hell does that prove? Furthermore, when was the media brought up once in this entire thread? When I said that this didn't warrant a thread, the number of responses that you got should have indicated that this has all been done to death, and everyone on this forum knows where everyone else stands. Sure, it's a good thing to debate politics, but I think that your topic was too, well, small to really get anyhting started. As for check and mate? You haven't proved anything. I mean, I agree with you, in that I'm a conservative, but this kind of broad assumption is the type of thing that just further polarizes people, and makes others say the same thing about you. Only they'll say Republican Jackass instead of you saying (in not so many words) that they're jackasses for voting democrat. **Edit** Ooh, Deker beat me to it, although he's got the authority to do more than just flame back. I'd take his words to heart, atrox. |

Check and Mate, motha****er
One might say that this election further proves what the rest of the world thinks of Americans...but we won't go there. It's actually good to see that there was a healthier voter turnout, and what can a person say? He won again. Can't say I'm happy about it, and I've read that Bush could be better for Canada then Kerry would be, but from a humanity perspective, I just don't like it. And I'm also not sold on the US/Canadian ties, but thats for further discussion. Edit: The first comment is a rash generalization, associating atrox to Americans in general...I AM NOT calling Americans idiots, although this election does make my eyebrows lift. I guess it's going to take 8 years to convince 18-25 year olds to vote. |

Im sorry liberals, I gave you a chance to answer my question seriously, the fact is you can't because Kerry has NO record to be proud of in the senate. When I ask liberlas this question they either act stupid or change the subject. The "check and mate thing" came from a movie I saw on newgrounds....funny stuff. Yes my assumptions may be broad and opinionated but seriously there are only 2 reasons why people would vote for kerry. 1) They hate Bush, mostly because they are democrats or they are drones of CNN/moore 2) They believe everything Kerry said he would do in the debates. Some say the record in the senate doesnt show his ability to lead...but then what does. The 3 hours during the debates, i think not. All i want is for the liberals to think hard (without cnn ) and actually ask yourself why you supported Kerry if it wasnt for the above 2 reasons(which shouldnt be a decision factor for people). |

People are able to like Kerry just because he isn't Bush, and there isn't anything you can do about that fact. But that fact certainly does not require, what is seemingly, hatred towards them. And not all liberals like Kerry just Because he isn't Bush, some like him because he is Kerry. No more flaming, name calling, or immature junk here please, I will close the thread, if another mod doesn't beat me to it. |
See? It's the dumb that vote for Bush. Texas idiots and friends...
you might look to see where people are from before making comments that make you appear less intelligent than you probably are... chris |

Again, answer the first question, that means dont change the topic and dont say anything if you support Kerry for the 2 reasons in my previous post.

*NOTE* Either read this whole post, or don't read it at all. I don't want to be misquoted later. Atrox, I think you can surmise from the lack of answers that the majority of Kerry supporters support him not because they've followed his career for a great many years, but due in large part to his campaigning. In all seriousness, I doubt many people who intended to vote democrat even knew who he was at the time of his reciept of the democratic nomination. Now you should also know that campaigns aren't enacted to win the votes of those who are already registered under a specific candidates' party, but rather to garner votes from the vast middle, from those who are undecided voters, who are in the very middle of the political spectrum. To lose an election is to take fewer of such people's votes than one's opponent. Bush has succeded in taking the votes of the undecided voters. Not by a landslide, by any means, but rather enough to give him more of a 53%-47% victory. So I, a CONSERVATIVE, will answer your question: Most registered democrats really don't know much about his record in the senate. Nor do you. Nor I, for that matter, but there's the point; asking a question to which the opposing side does not have an answer is does not make your version of an answer correct. It serves only to cast reasonable doubt upon whatever the unknown correct answer is. That is not the same thing as an unequivocally correct answer, which to the question that you have proposed, there is none. It is purely opinion based. Which is why I questioned the validity of this thread in the first place, because all of our opinions, more or less, have been laid out on the table already. You need only to look for such threads. The above notwithstanding, given my statement in the previous paragraph, I could have answered PURPLE SANDWICH MITTENS THURSDAY MULE, and if I were satisfied that I had adequately voiced my opinion of what element of Kerry's voting record I was most pleased with, then there is no means whereby you could find fault with it. Anyway, I think that this is all a moot point because the election is long over, Kerry has conceded, and his record is no longer an issue, lest he seek another run at the presidency in 2008. So, the tone that this thread now bears is one of gloating, which really, you can only do if you did in fact vote for bush. Now the question on all of our minds is: Are you even old enough to vote? Judging from the tone of your posts, I'd say you're what, about 14 years old? Oh wait, I just read on your site that you're 15. To that I say, it's good that you have an interest in politics, but learn where and when to pick your fights, and choose your words carefully, because as many good ideas as you have in your head, they can be very often poorly translated through such terms as "check and mate, motherf*ckers" Sure you don't want to add some L337's or !!1!!!111!!!1!!'s to that while you're at it? Otherwise, choose your words to reflect the idea that you've thought out a topic, and then be prepared to defend your thesis, because otherwise, you'll get walked on. This will be the case in all walks of life, so I'd start practicing now. |
