Has anyone heard anything about the next version of Photoshop? Any ideas on when it might be released?

Saw this at another forum. From what I know of it, they are supposed to wrap it all up into Premiere. It is supposed to be one big do-all program instead of several programs like photoshop, imageready, pdf stuff, etc. to streamline and have one support team instead of many. Thats just the talk from the gaming convention out here in Virginia Beach anyway. |

I think Photoshop CS was the last version they are releasing. They decided it can already do everything, and can't think of anything else to add except more lens flare types, so they are just going to leave it at CS. CS stood for Complete System, meaning that the program is complete, and can not possibly be improved.

PS:9 - No need for a mouse or tablet, just move the cursor with your mind. Bluetooth module required. I still can't imagine that they're going to make one behemoth program that does everything, because well...I dunno. It just doesn't seem completely reasonable, to have all of Photoshop's functions and all of Illustrator's, and all of ImageReady's as well as Premiere's copious functions into one program, just well...because. It seems a little strange, and unnecessarily confusing as well. Anyway though, I think there's a lot they could do to Photoshop. I mean, as Adobe's only painting program, there's untold potential insofar as emulating real mediums, the way Corel Painter does. I mean, the stuff I use photoshop for is not so complex that a new version would change the way I work. But also from a business standpoint, there's no reason to discontinue a hugely popular program such as photoshop. |

I have a hard time believing that it will all be combined in to one as well. Anybody have any official documentation on this? Isn't this the time of year that adobe releases new software? Is there no roadmap? |

I don't think they will ever combine everything into one single program... from a bussiness point-of-view that would be rather silly... I guess, they make several versions, so you have to buy several versions. Which means money for them... Making one, multi-functional program would cost a fortune and nobody would be interested... since the store price would be too high probably. |

plus imagine how slow and bogged down that program would be. i make web sites, not videos. why would i buy a program that does video along with makes web sites. they are two totally different things.
