This was cool to watch...

Demolition is cool. Across the street from me today was an oil refinery. They were demolishing a huge storage tank with a single Caterpillar using a cutting attachment. It looked like a dinosaur chomping away at it. After he ripped a hole in the tank he proceeded to tear it open like a can of sardines. Took him a while to finally get it to fall though. Oh, and it made some of the coolest sounds ever. Imagine a thin, metal garbage can or a big piece of sheet metal being pounded on with a steel pipe in an echo chamber, then multiply that sound by 28,000. Too bad I couldn't record the audio.

they should have used explosives! lol

though i guess its kinda small for that. I wonder what a stick of dynamite would sound like inside of that big "drum"? Probably wouldn't have had the same effect as the shovel ripping through it (no echo's.....not metal banging together).

Still, they should have blown it to **** :D :D

I think that sums it up! lol. I really like the fact that there's no fire guys......anywhere...kinda gives it a more dramatic feeling.

It was an abandoned Insane Asylum, and I gotta go back with a digital camera. We took a little video last saturaday, but it's hard to get in there, what with the cops and the nearby prison.
