t.v simulator?

Has anyone ever seen any software that will simulate, on your monitor, the way different types of televisions display graphics, menus etc.? It just seems that something like that would be really handy to people who design things for final viewing on a person's television at home.

kinda an interesting idea but there's SO many variables involved i don't see how it could be done effectively. wouldnt change the way i design anyway, its not my fault if someone has a crappy tv to view what my work on ;)

I'm not exactly sure on what you want...
I once found this app that would let you preview your page on all sorts of resolutions though, don't know about the graphics part... I agree with Fig and think that it would be a too tedious job to program.
