Just showing off I got me a brand new dvd burner yay! I got rid of about 80 Gigs worth of pics, psd-s and site folders from my hard drives. Archived nice and easy. Plus I can put all my movies to DVD now . I wanted to get one that writes X12. But when I asked around about a cheaper one the guy at the store tried to tell me I'd change it in a few months. I just told him I still have a Teac CD writer that writes X8 max and it's still servicing me just fine. ...then I went for a X8 DVD Writer... I later found out I chose well - didn't know about the plus and minus stuff but mine has them both...and the X12 one didn't. aaaand I also found out that X12 blank DVDs are more expensive and hard to come by (at least here). I'm pretty pleased with myself. ;) |

We must be on the same wave length. I just bought one too. I was tempted to get a X12 too but I found out like you did that dvds for it are more expensive. Which one did you end up getting? |

Teac I'm pretty pleased with the brand. I still have a Teac CD ROM from a few years ago. Works like a charm... Although lately they started making stuff out of plastic too. My old CD ROM has metal cogs - weighs about 2 kilos ...never failed..haha I guess they don't make'em like they used to.
