Google to start trading tomorrow?

All I'm saying is that anyone who made money off google was lucky. Anyone who bought shares using sharebuilder or ameritrade or whatever, congrats--luck was on your side. I have read so many posts (in other forums) where people who made $$$ off google are claiming to be investing-literate and supposedly "called" their investment. People who strike luck in the stock market are just like Las Vegas tourists... they get a lucky hand in blackjack and think they're gambling experts that can MAKE more money than LOSE. "I made $2000 by investing in google. The stock market is just sooo easy!" And you capped off my point perfectly, anyone who doesn't know how the stock market works shouldn't give advice--that's why this thread should have never even been started.

It's not just going to be a search engine.

Thats one article (which is laughably a blog) against a billion. Read any financial website like morningstar, msn money, yahoo finance, etc. and read the majority. Unless you invest for a living or hire someone who does so, save your money from being lost and toss it into a savings account.

Aah the remanence of the poor practices of the early .com’s.

But google as a long-term investment is poor. It's a junky dot-com stock that will jump up and down more times that you can believe. I'll bet everyone in this forum $5 that 2 weeks from now, google will be downgraded to the dumps. And everyone who actually is holding on to it for long-term, does Cicso Systems ring a bell??? Ouch..
