Wow...$150 for that kind of quality? What a deal!

Are you kidding? You haven't seen th eHALF of it. I've seen sites offer worse in packages that they charge between 600 to 2000 dollars for.

Recently my dad's friend wanted me to do a site for him. He showed me a number of sites that he liked, as well as the design company he would have hired if not for me. They all were of that site's quality.

He told me exactly what he wants me to do, and unfortunately I have to do a job of that quality so as to give him what he wants.

People suck.

People are insane.
Its pretty sad when people are charging more then we are for websites and they suck so much.
LOL .... I have to agree. I've noticed it's like a plague .. I call it The Wannabe Virus ... and the sad thing is the people who actually pay for these horrible designs. Well, I can't feel too bad for them. They don't have to pay for it. But then it makes me wonder, if they're willing to pay for those low quality designs (most likely done by a kid with a copy of Photoshop who still lives at home and is too lazy to get a real job), then how come I'm not making more money?

By the way, Pganguly, love your sig.

Did you show him what you are capable of? I bet he never goes on the internet so he can't see what a good looking website is. Maybe show him a few nice website and he would change his mind. Cause seriously I don't know why someone would like to have a website like that... except if he doesn't take his business seriously.

LOL, That would be rough KinEtiK.

Yeah, sometimes I get customers that want sites so ^#@# ugly and I just cant seem to coax em outta it. So thats why I never show off some of my customers work. lol.( i.e. Bulletholes in a Yellow/Black/Orange/White website)

Another fad is web design is these DAMN TEMPLATES. Sure they look good. but EVERYONE and there dog is starting to use them. AND Call themselves web designers. I got guys on my MSN going "Mitch! Mitch! Look at my new site I built! I'm gettin better eh?" and im like...

"no. Thats a template you ripped and took credit for. lol", this guy actually wanted to go into business just sellign sites with these templates >_<

Yep, the world of web design gets tougher every day with Joe Wannabe and his pals out there pulling off the same looks-great-and-I-did-nothing-to-earn-it designs.

Actually, because the Web is so poliferated with these types of people it's very hard for someone who wants a website (and as such usually has no clue about web design) to decide what is and isn't good. How can you judge if a web design is good or not if you have no experience with such things?

Sure, people have their own taste, but say a newbie wants a website and finds Joe Wannabe first .... with nothing to compare his work with (and to guage what is and isn't "good" about it) they opt for his design simply because most people are in a hurry and want a site up and running as soon as possible.

Sad, but also sadly true.
