When I was about 12 years old, a friend's dad who was a sailor brought him a toy. It was an imperial walker - (AT-AT for the connaisseurs). It was made of metal and you could wind it up and it actually walked. it was about palm size and had a rusty sand color - not metal grey. Now I begged my friend to sell it to me, I was ready to trade my precious collection of Jules Verne books for it...and I had about 40 of them... but no dice. I even tried stealing it - I'm ashamed to say...and got caught. Ever since I came first came in contact with the internet I searched for that toy... E-bay included without luck. I don't know who produced it and my friend (who lost the toy about 10 years ago the stupid sh|thead) has no clue also. The box got thrown away ages ago. If any of you can help me...I'd be willing to pay good money for that toy...even draw a website or something. Maybe you saw it in a friend's house...maybe you saw it in a store... help out a poor guy.

I kinda remembered this when I read deker's blog about the big bucks movies...

I'm a huge star wars fan but I've never seen one of those before. I tried looking it up in my "Star Wars from concept to screen to collectible" book but I couldn't find it either. I wonder if it was a european exclusive or something? Must be heck of rare. Hope you find it.

How about i create a makeshift AT-AT in MS Paint, and you give me about.. $300 for it? Here's a quick sample i whipped up in a matter of hours. Keep in mind that this is a SAMPLE, it is not your property yet unless i see some cash...

Is it a deal?

Nos.

flak - I think it was made in Hong Kong... I haven't seen anything like it since either.

Nos - wow - it's exactly what I had in mind. 300$ is too little for that though - how about I give you 304$?

If it was made in Hong Kong, there is a very good chance it was one of those 2 dollar bootlegs, seeing as it wasn't even the right color, maybe the company that produced it was trying to aviod legal batles with LucasFilms, I know I have never seen that toy, and I am sorry to say, I doubt you'll see it again. Heh.
